About the Thailand eSIM
Our Thailand eSIM gives you mobile data on True or AIS, depending on the plan you pick, with 5G where your phone supports it. It works anywhere in Thailand your plan's network has signal, not just in the big cities.
Popular with Australian travellers heading to Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai.
Data only, with no local phone number: use WhatsApp, iMessage or FaceTime for calls. Delivered by email in minutes, so you can install it before you fly. Your plan starts when you connect in Thailand. The True 50GB 10-day plan is different: it starts once installed, so install that one when you land.

Thailand eSIM questions
How much does the Thailand eSIM cost?
Data plans start at $4.95 for 1GB over 7 days, and 10GB for 30 days is $15.95. There is also a short-trip deal: 50GB for 10 days at $26.95. Daily data starts at $5.95 for 3 days at 1GB a day. Unlimited data starts at $12.95 for 3 days. Prices are in AUD, with no roaming charges on top.
How much data do I need in Thailand?
Most travellers use about 1GB a day with maps, messaging and some social media, so 10GB ($15.95) covers a week. Just maps and messages? 3GB ($7.95) is enough for a week. Streaming or a laptop hotspot? Unlimited starts at $12.95 for 3 days. See how much data each app uses.
Which networks does the Thailand eSIM use?
It uses True and AIS, and joins whichever has the best signal where you are. The 50GB 10-day deal runs on True only. Daily data runs on True only. You get 5G where the network has it, if your phone supports 5G, and 4G everywhere else.
Does it work on Phi Phi, Koh Tao and the other islands?
Yes. Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, Phi Phi and Koh Lanta all have coverage. Signal can drop on boats between islands and at remote beaches.
Do Grab and Bolt work in Thailand?
Yes. Both work for rides, and Grab also does food delivery. Add a card before you fly, or choose cash in the app.
Do I need to register my passport?
No. Thai SIM cards from the airport need your passport scanned. A travel eSIM connects as a visitor, so there's nothing to register.
Can I use it in Cambodia or Laos?
When does my Thailand plan start?
When the eSIM first connects to a network in Thailand. Install it on Wi-Fi a day or two before you fly: the days don't start counting until you land. The 50GB 10-day deal starts as soon as it's installed, so install that one when you land.
Can I use the Thailand eSIM as a hotspot?
Yes. Every Thailand plan can share its data with a laptop, a tablet or a travel partner's phone. Anything you share comes off the same plan.
Does the Thailand eSIM include calls and texts?
No, it's data only, with no local number. Call and text over WhatsApp, iMessage or FaceTime. Your Australian number stays on your phone, so texts like bank codes still arrive.
